Specific advice on Chopping Tops during Budding

Recommended Posts

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i393/enzolorenzo/2800.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i393/enzolorenzo/2800firstpistils.jpg As you can see in the second pic, this plant is just turning it on for me. Problem i have is the height has gone to 2800mm (i can't tie this one down) and can't afford it to grow more than another 400mm without becoming visible from road, neighbours etc.

So am thinking of just chopping 3-400mm off the tops. Is this going to do anything? Should the plant still keep going into flower? Will it stop flowering where i cut the tops off? Will it throw the plant back into stretch? I am guessing i will lose about 8 of these tops, but am not worried as the other plants have given me more than enough for myself for the year.

If i get answers stating that it will go back to veg for some reason, i will not do it. But if all i lose is 5 0r 6ft of head "big deal". I will do a chop chop on the weekend ;) http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i393/enzolorenzo/2800othermidflower.jpg This last pic is of another plant i tied down, it still has hit around 2mtrs, but seems to be happy with lots of buds developing. The one next door is only just showing its girly bits ;)

Ah cool thankyou kindly :) Will bend, you learn something everyday! Sad, because it is in a nice part of the garden, and it has been somewhat ornamental up till now...Guess it has to get pulled up sooner or later no matter what i do... Still nice lying in a hammock with a ganja plant around you ;-)

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i393/enzolorenzo/015.jpg Thanks again peoples! With the tops bent down and the bottom 4ft chewed off by the dogs, it looks more like a topiary now! Am very happy, and not so sure that someone would pick out what it was, without really looking hard at it :)

G'day O Master of the Pit. How did your dog handle that for a snack? My dog licks my arms/hands after I have been in the patch then kinda wanders away for a while, she can be pretty laid back when she wants to. :guitar:
