People who share bongs to smoke MJ at risk of TB

Recommended Posts

PEOPLE who share bongs to smoke marijuana may be at risk of contracting pulmonary tuberculosis, Australian medical researchers say.

http://www.thechronicle.com.au/story/2011/04/04/bongs-linked-to-tb-by-researchers/

I found this funny as they go on to the end of the artical with a statement like this

"While there is no conclusive proof that TB has been spread by bong smoking, there is sufficient reason to suggest an association between this activity and the spread and severity of the disease."

and then this

"The other health problems associated with long term marijuana use are quite clear and well laid out."

What a fucking joke.

There is a risk of pluerisy from consistent heavy bong smoking, but I've never heard of any other dramas.

I wonder how many dope smokers die of lung cancer? So far the evidence is pointing toward a reduced risk from any data analysis I've seen.

Fucking clowns, why we continue to pay these morons is beyond me. This is what our tax dollar is producing folks.

Ha!

Speculation from three cases! Quick put it it the next medical journal... scince when were conclusions drawn with this method? You can get colds, cold sores and other kinds of cooties from sharing bongs too. Here's a solution: personal bongs! Don't share bongs with strangers! So they think this is all the more reason to keep MJ illeagal? What a sad unfunny joke. Feeble excuse at best. :wallbash:

I've smoked out of a bong every day for over 30 years.. And i am very particular who i share it with.. We have our own at home and never share if we're sick. I don't like sharing anyway :harhar:

Yes you can catch things such as hepB through a dirty bong. You can catch a lot of other things like colds, flu's, viruses etc by sharing your bong. You can also catch these things if you don't smoke or share a bong..

In the Health Dept Tuberculosis notification in Australia, it does not mention or discuss a link between smoking from a bong and TB.

Clean your bong between sessions or even during if you're going hard. Always clean it before the morning sess especially. Alright, have 1 first, then clean it if it's not too bad, gotta have that first eye opener :bongon: .. Don't be shy to refuse someone a cone if they're sick, roll them a joint. And don't be so greedy you can't say no if offered a cone in a dirty bong by someone.. Or better still clean it for them
