Tiny flies all over buds

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a shit load of tiny flies all over my buds - and they have come to die and are impossible to remove.

Anyone seen this before and have any idea how to remove them?

Also how far off picking do you think I am? See second photo

Any help or advice is appreciated

Cheers

Hey champ.

Shoulda posted in the problems/pest section but maybe a mod will move it stunned.gif

I think that's scarid fly. Never had it myself but looks like that's gonna be a real bitch.

So late in flowering I wouldn't use any pesticides except a natural white oil - a recipe for which is posted by Radic in the tutes section. Pull heaps of those buggers off, squash em and add em into the mix. Their smell of their dead buddies should give them the hint to piss off.

Otherwise get the vacuum ready crazy.gif

As for when to harvest, i'd make up the white oil real quick, spray twice in first day, maybe again the next day, and if they've left day or two after that i'd be harvesting. Those calyx's look pretty plump and swollen already.

Goodluck

hey mate.....sorry to see ya got ya self a dose of black flies :stunned: ...well thats what i call em lol

if ya using coco or rockwool i suggest ya let it dry right out....to the point that ya plants are almost wilting...then feed accordingly.....

do that for a week or so and the cunce should be at bey :scratchin:

can also keep the numbers down with a handy lil product called yellow sticky fly traps.....or thats what i call em. that way ya not using any chemical/pesticides

good luck :bongon:

The warnings that come with Sciarid Fly poison are quite scary. There are beneficials though which make light work of sciarid fly eggs and larvae. If you don't stop the life cycle you'll face an uphill battle. Hang a number of the yellow sticky traps from the lower branches, just cut them to length so they don't hit the medium. you can make multiple traps from the same sheet with a hole punch or similar. G'day Negus.

I have had a small problem with these rancid little pricks, so out of a bit of desperation I lit a mozzie coil. Job done. Two days later a few were back so lit another one and today no sign at all. The coils contain natural Pyrethrum so probably no nasty effects.:guitar: :guitar: :guitar:
