Lighting or Nutes

Recommended Posts

I'm posting here as I thought it might be the best place, as I.m a newbie to this modern indoor growing stuff I expect to make a few mistakes, last indoor grow was over 20 years ago under fishtank grow lights..................

OK the Question I have one plant doing a test run in my fridge raised from a seed about a week old now I have 2 130 watt 6400 CFL's in the fridge one above with a batwing shade and one at the rear I noticed that my plant was yellowing The water leaves are completly yellow and the next set of single leaves have yellow tips? It is in straight potting mix and I nad it about a half inch under the top light I thought it was lack of nitrogen so I gave it some seasol yesterday Ot seems a bit darker green today but my question is about lighting in the old days you would have the tip of the plant nearly touching the fluro but these new CFL's I looked at the lighting chart and it looks like I could have it at least 12 inches under the light? at the moment I adjusted the lights so the plant is about 3 inches under the light and about 8 inches away from the rear light am I still too close?? or was it just a lack of nutes? I can get a pic tomorrow Thanks for any advice
