Irrigation fittings in Bunnings?

Hi,

 

Was in Bunnings the other day and noticed an isle full of various sized fittings and piping/misters etc for irrigation systems. But it said these were only for main pressure ones? Can these be used for hydroponic systems / DWC buckets?

 

If not where does one go to get their own fittings and piping from?

 

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated......

yes, deffinately. hyrdoponics are rarely big enough to have to have such pressure. you could use these fittings most definitely. as for hosing a lot of people prefer to use the soft hosing rather than the rigid stuff simply because its more fittings needed where as soft you can bend and go around corners ..

yep the 13mm piping / joiners and angles from bunnings is what i used for all my irrigation. You can get hose clamps if you are worried but i found a bit of heat applied to the right places can have the same effect.

 

but as stated above a hydro setup shouldn't have the pressure to blow them (i.e. a tap a 3/4 strength would just blow the fittings on a mister system i built) but really you should have no worries as long as you dont put some bullshit industrial pump on it
