Pipeman : i followed the instructions in a faq from overgrow you can catch it here http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1509

FOL: No mate Im not sorry :o

Chronicon : hahaha lol your right it is a worry

I sourced the basket thing from Food For Less for $8.00

The quilt wadding came from Spotlight for $5.99 a meter , I used 3 meters each one.

The Screen Wire was from the hardware store. I ferget the price.

I used 2 X 150 mm saucers surrounding a fried rice container from a chinese shop in one end of the screen cylinder to hold the shape, and a 150mm ducting connector on the other end...I actually bought a plastic Y piece and cut into 3 pieces as I needed 3 of them and it worked out cheaper

I also used a rolled up piece of carboard inside the ducting connector to extend it a little inside the filter.

The Activated Carbon was Kongs brand and I have the name of the wholesaler if you need it.

Regards

Nice work Kash, looks just like the OG one. I've got a variation that goes inside a big pot plant pot. The hose goes in the back of the pot and connects to the filter inside. The top 6 inches is free and holds a fern so it looks like a big pot plant. The holes are in the bottom and the air comes out the drain holes.

Hi Kash...I went into an aquarium supplies place that sold activated carbon for 1kg for 6.90$....but the pellets are really small...as in about 5mm...is that how big the ones you are talking about are?

Also when adding the pellets to the area between the padding...what holds the pellets in place? Sheer weight of the mass?

Why make it?

Carbon Filters are cheaper when purchased complete. The best place to find such an item is your local home brewery store. They supply mass amounts of activated carbon, have complete kits and complete filters.

All one needs to do is join it into the flow line with a few worm screws and it is complete until the carbon is saturated and needs replacing.
