Hey J Herra, i recommend those CFL's for Veg but yield will be down with those as well, not real flash for flowering. If space is tight, maybe a 250w HPS in a cooltube might be the go for ya. I have one Blue spectrum CFL I use to Veg and two reds that Just take up room in my spare cupboard because they failed even as supplimentry lights at a distance of more than a couple of inches from the buds. Best of Luck mate. Go the HID , you wont regret it. Peace. Gh72

i dont spose there would be much of an increase in power between these lights and a 250w hps.

thats the only thing that worries me is enormous power bills.

a friend who grew some pretty decent bud under l.e.d with cfl`s but he wont show me what types and range.

i had my leds wavelengths changed

no pictures sorry.

Hey J Herra, Yeah mate, a 400w HPS costs about $40-$50 a month, so a 250w won't break the bank. It will only be slighly more cost than using 2 CFL's but the punch of the light into your plants is far greater, giving you more and bigger bud sites. I have gone up to 600w with only about a $150 increase in power costs every 2 months from when I didn't grow anything and that is including all the fans running 24/7 , the lot. Using CFL's for veg is perfect, even LED's are great for that.

But like they say in the motor circles with those in the know.......... Theres no substitute for Cubic Inches. =) . Peace. Gh72
