LED's; an explanation that seems reasonable

Thanks mate, I don't do bullshit. I had a crack at LED, failed but the grow is being resurrected as we speak.

 

Auto-Blueberry courtesy of Amnesia. It'll be a nice after dinner smoke followed by listening to the album, Deep Impressions by Katalyst, fav song being, 'Pot or Pills'. I take the former. And I have no interests financially to the music industry or individual bands or artists.

 

I digress, LED lights may be wonderful for growing basil, but suboptimal for weed.

I attempted to resurrect my LED grow with HPS. They were new Dutch Passion Auto-flowering Blueberry seeds. Following stunted growth under LED, I switched over to HPS. A week later they all turned hermaphrodite.

 

I understand that if you harvest the pollen from hermie autos you can pollinate pure females to produce femanised seeds? Well that's awesome but who can be bothered. One purchases femanised autos for a reason. It seems the LED stressed the plants so much they turned hermie.

 

I've cut them all down, put them on the fire and have sprouted another batch. No doubt I'll have better luck this time under HPS like previous grows.

 

See my earlier post for the LED lights to avoid. For the extra hunge in electricity a quarter for HPS, I'll stick with it. Fuck LED, Fuck the Chinese bullshit artists who sold me the crap lighting solution. There may be quality LED's on the market but the sellers can stick them up their collective arses and I'll stay with HPS.

I don't think you can blame the LED for turning your plant(s) hermie, after all it was only 120 watt. How many plants were you trying to grow anyway? Like you said you believed the hype and bought in like a newbie. A lack of light stressed your plants.

I bought an LED too, only slightly more powerful (approx 150w) and a lot less expensive ($130). It is still a good grow light just not very bright.

However, there does seem to be a lot of bullshit + mediocre product with LEDs atm.

Imho, If you have money to burn they are a better grow light than CFL and still produce some heat, but don't believe the hype.

Im sorry Bacchus about ur grow but u fuked up somewhere, dont blame ur light for stunted growth. U have had a nutrient deficiency somwhere and ur plant could not generate properly.

Apologies for my rant. All I will say is that the light I purchased was the only variable from previous grows which have been successful. Newbie, yes, sucked in by bullshit, unfortunately I was.

 

Nutrient deficiency bollocks. Same regime from other grows. Jorge's book rocks.

 

I've laid down another grow under HPS, Peace Brothers!

Cheers man, Hey get this, just the other day I gently dropped the LED onto the plants.

I say gently because it didn't have far to fall. The plants are fine but the it broke. Hah!

I like that LED dials in the usable wavelengths of light but that's about it for me atm. Maybe when they come down in price and up in quality, though someone has mentioned plasma on here.

Live and learn. Life goes on. Time to upgrade to HID
