LED's; an explanation that seems reasonable

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I didnt realise this was such a passionate topic I just researched or rather googled the leds and found this company in Singapore LED Princess they make industrial LED lights they also advertised grow lights for medical marijuana growers, I checked the specs on the site they equalled or betterd the HPS I am useing, had a better colour spectrum and cost less to run and buy, so I thought what the heck and orderd one, the thing is hell bright like blindingly bright so I will try it side by side with the HPS. I dont want to get into an augument over whats better untill I see for myself. If you want to judge its merrits just a few key strokes will answer your questions and you will know what I know, sure they may be bullshitting if they are I loose out not anybody else. They are not too expensive so I dont realy care but if they are even half as good as they claim they will cost me less to run. The colour spectrum is what I am impressed with the HPS ect has alot of energy spent producing light that is not used by the plant. This is what attracted me to this product, now if they are telling the truth its a lot more efficient and mainly pruduces what the plant needs. I am hoping to feed the plant only the colours it needs to grow not waste money producing light it does not. But untill I actualy get two plants side by side I will not be able to judge, yes clones would be more scientific but if the buds are good and taste good that will be enough for me anyway. Till then enough said from me

hey mate leds dont compare with hps lighting but hey give it a whirl if your goin to be using another room for the led panel you might need some heating to get the temp right wich defeats the purpose of saving money im sure someone on here as already done a side by side grow and the buds grown under leds were pretty crap compared to hps lighting. and of course that company is goin to say there better than hps other wise no body would bother with it i aint argying im just putting my 2 cent. dont forget to put up a grow diary :bongon:

This is a bullshit thread if I have ever seen one.

Op are you repping bonza or chinese LEDs?

Either way until you turn up with some pics and results no one is going to take you seriously.

If you had spent even 5 minutes browsing here (which i assume you have) you would forsee the exact response to this thread.

No one here has a problem with growing better bud and I'm sure, as I do everyone here wishes you the best for your grow but 'the company that makes this shit reckons' doesnt fly far here or anywhere else for that matter.

Either start a diary and update it regularly or piss off trolling. IMHO ;)

Ok I see but there is no need to get your nikkers in a twist I am not reping anyone mearly thanking someone who came through with the goods and the company name was in responce to a question about the specs. I will leave you children to play. I thought this was a site for shareing but I can see for some of you its way to personal. Cheers and thanks but no thanks

Don't leave Tang, I want to see what happens!

I use Blackstar LED's myself, my first LED grow (https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/49734-a-diary-of-firsts/page__fromsearch__1) was pretty average. But that was really nothing to do with the LED you can see the fuck ups I made throughout the grow. I'm doing C99 right now in coco under CFL for veg and then under the LED for flower.

In my opinion we need more people doing actual LED grows so we have some evidence one way or the other.

There are heaps of youtube vids with varied results, here is one of the ones that worked just as a matter of interest.

Maybe the problem with LED diaries is that the outcome does not justify the hype and the effort?

Diaries with LED's always seem to end abruptly with a mingy looking stalk and a few tiny heads.

The other pics seem to be deceptive with a HPS or two added to the LEDs

I have heard that the high from a LED grow is more delightful?

Hmmm. Maybe that will be the latest selling point !

I just finished persevering with a 120W so called broad spectrum LED for 4 weeks. Growth rate was very slow although the plants were healthy. It just wasn't cutting it so I swapped it over for my 450W HPS.

Much faster growth and overall better appearance. I didn't take any photos unfortunately so no photographic proof. I should've read this thread before dropping $400 on the LED.

Yep, newbie here got sucked in by the rave reviews on the site. Live and learn I guess.
