G'day Demist. Ages ago I bought a powdered sulphate of potash that dissolves in water easy as. I think it was the mighty one stop shop. I must go find it, I remember it was in a cardboard box, but it isn't any more, is in a plastic container.

well Auntie, I also saw a range of "focus" liquid fertilizers. five, I think. all except one had N below 2. (none of them was called 'rose focus'). these I saw were in black plastic one litre bottles. at least I think that was what I saw ... it all seems so long ago now.

G'day Demist. Thats the stuff, but maybe they had run out of stock, my local had none the other day when I went to get some more, so I bought their brew called Flower Focus. I've used it once and will give them another dose next week. Are you flingin' shit at my memory or is yours in the same basket? I'm still looking for a container of cup hooks that I KNOW are there somewhere, but where, exactly, I dunno.

G'day Coney. It does seem that Rose nutes are the way to go, after 3 crops now I wouldn't use much else, some potash and a drop or two of seaweed, but thats about it.

Just a quick warning on the rose foods guys, check the labels thoroughly as some are not suitable for consumable crops (so no good for buds) as they have a high level of heavy metals.

Brunnings rose food comes with this warning: Use of this product may result in Cadmium and Mercury residues in excess of Maximum Permissible Concentration

(MPC) in plant and animal products and may also result in accumulation of these residues in soils.

how can they sell that shit?.

G'day Crim. It might be good idea for us to check all products we put on our plants. I had a mate 25 odd years ago died from cadmium poisoning, welding inside tanks that had been galved with the shit, very nasty way to go. It pretty much ate him alive.

yeah aunty, as a general rule stick to fertilisers made for foodstuffs, they have to be safe by law (of course that's not a real guarantee they are but the odds have to be better).

hello, i use amgrow, blood and bone, all the way through, when flowering starts , i add a pelleted form of sulphate of potash and with 3-4 weeks to harvest i use pk 13-14 once, works beautifully.

oh this is a complex issue! I 'd like to go totally organic and I tried this year but have put on too much N too late. I flushed the bed well but the NPK balance is all out now and I am oh so verilly pissed off.

 

Auntie, I would NEVER EVER have a go about yr memory. (I might quietly chuckle up my sleeve, but more out of a sense of knowing what it's like than out of putting shit on you.) Nope, I was stoned at the time and a quiet thought about the relative nature of time and reality flitted thru my neuron pathways and somehow this unbidden mental process communicated itself to my cheeky little fingers ... and I waffled on ... and on ... and on.
