1st Grow

Recommended Posts

Hi crew, hows it going :scratchin: I am a first time grower living in Exmouth, WA. I am very keen on growing some chronic marl but am a newbie to cannabis cultivation... Where I live the temperature comes close to 50 degrees celsius in Summer and is very arid/isolated. I am wondering if the high temps will burn my dope or cause other problems, many people grow bush in this town but have learnt over years. I have some seeds of a strain grown here for a few years. Can anyone give me some tips and info on growing plzzzzzz! :helpsmilie:

Thankyou :bongon:

G'day Cuda. Way up North ,mate. For an out door grow I would not have a clue when to start up your way, some locals will steer you in the right direction on that. You might be able to grow 2 crops/year. Main things to do to get a good crop is work up your soil, lots and lots of organic matter, compost, mulch, straw, leaves, manures, not green manures, well weathered, etc, and let it do it's stuff, keep moist to damp when you put your babies in and then watch and learn, don't crowd 'em, at least a square mtr each. Lots of blood and bone, some lime, sulphate of potash, even a bit of super phosphate early on, helps get over transplant shock but water in well. There are lots of very good growers here and a wealth of info, just go with what works in your case, a bit of trial and error. The local seed you have will be the best to go with for starters, as it is acclimatised to your area and if it smokes good you are way in front. Don't hesitate to ask the crew here they will steer you right. :guitar:

I'd have to say that a lot of good mulch around the base will be your biggest friend as with temps like that your plants will be drying out real fast.

I wouldn't want to be lugging as much water as I think you're going to have to!

Best tips would be coming from local growers if you know any.

Jimbo :peace:

G'day Jimbo. Poor bugger will have to drink as much water as he will need to carry to a crop, I hate the cold where I live, but 50c thats feral.
