The point I was trying to make is that you shouldn't put anything but water to top up your res. If you top with water and then add extra nutes again back up to your preferred ppm/EC reading you will throw the balance/ratios of nutrients out. This is because the plants eat some quicker than others.

 

You can't goo too wrong with 1/2 strength nutes. If your leaves went pale and died thats more likely UNDERfeeding them more than nute burn from OVERfeeding.

yeh i know it wasn't nute burn i thinking that the problem wasthat because the roots turned brown and a bit slimey i had rootrot but have added the new root formula and it cleared it right up and it also has new roots coming out now aswell.

EC = electrical conductivity of your nutrient results from motion of mineral ions when the meter applies an electrical voltage.

 

PPM = is a common unit for measuring the concentration of elements in the nutrient solution. One ppm is one part by weight of the mineral in one million parts of solution.
