adding nutes in dwc

In a dwc bubbler system do u add nutes as they get used by the plant or just wait untill day 10 or whatever and then add the new nutes when changing the water?Im buying a tds meter soon but wont be for a few weeks.

Add nutes to a fresh tank, and only top up with strait water until dump time. Don't add nutes to the top up water as this can unbalance the ratio's of what's in there.

The reason why i ask is that im starting out with a small amount of nutes in the water (for fear of nute burn) but im not sure if the plant has used it all up,i dont want the plant to run out of food as it already has had 2 sets of leaves that turned yellow that i cut off.Am i correct that the tds meter is for finding out how much nute is left in the water?I wont be able to afford one for a little while though. parts per meter ( i think), yes, they come factory calibrated and then they also come with 2 bags of fluid solution.

Yeh i keep getting yellow leaves from the bottom it seems nitrogen defitioncy but im giving it nutes with nitrogen in it,so thats why im wondering if mabee im not giving them enough nutes when i do the water change.Using a 5 litre dwc,cfl`s also adding some root formula to get rid of those nastie bacterias

Im under the impression PPM is parts per million, sum1 correct me if I am wrong, as per adding nutes etc...in my buckets I work on replenishing on a 40-50% ratio, meaning I make a fresh brew, top it up with ph adjusted water until I've replaced 40-50% of total volume. I also cannot stress the importance of quality equipment, unfortunatly theres a reason cheap things are cheap, I learnt the hard way, wont ever be burnt like that again, hope this helps=] Cheers, KB.

im having the same problem in soil - and it just so happenss i was watching weeds the other day, this problem was mentioned... conrad said it was a nitrogen deficiency... so pee in you plants.

Yes, it sounds like you're having a nitrogen deficiency. Either pee in em, or go find some nice REAL nitrogen nutes.
