Yet more CFL questions

Recommended Posts

Hi there Johnny and Buegeman,

Prior to seeing your posts and the results, I gave CFL's the big

For me with a 3m high ceiling CFL's don't work the light deteriorates before it gets to the plant. This is why I'm HPS all the way

But obviously from your info and pics CFL's can produce results in a confined space within close proximity to the growth.

Well done  . You've convinced me and I was a big sceptic. Might even have a go at this myself. I'm impressed. :yahoo:

Hey Merl1n,I think a lot of people are sceptical about Cfl's, but as long as you keep the lights really close you will get good solid nugs. The problem is the penetration of light, so you won't get much down low especially on tall plants. i suppose the solution is side lighting, which is something I am working on now with a "speaker" grow box.

I had run one grow through this already but had temp issues which I am working on now. A pic for you of last grow, 4 x 2 foot lights (2 x warm white, 2 x cool white) and 1 x 48 watt Cfl. Harvested 13 gramms (nearly 1/2 oz) from her, was a 6 month old mum that I decided to grow out.

Hey pisspot, for some one who needs/uses a lot like your self, then Id'e say yes go for the HID of sorts, but I grow enough my own use and am happy with what I am producing.

Hey Hotrod, thanks for the kind words my friend, I'm happy showing others what can be produced under "fluro's" and the best part is the cost of runnig them, cheap as chips.

One can produce a sizable crop but it would have to be a SOG or SRCog set up with numerous small plants. But not every one requires kilo's/pounds of our fine herb.

Keep it all green peeps.

Cheers Johnny

Hey stonedaj69, yes those plants are heavely heat stressed, had some temp/ventilation problems which I am working on as we speak. Even still, she did produce sone nice "smoke" but will be better when i get the temps under control.
