New light does not seem to be working, Son-T 600W

Hey Guys

 

I just got a new light and it does not switch on. When I power it up a small blue spark flashes every now and again but no light? I have a ballast which it came with and I am not sure what is going wrong? It is housed in a cool tube.

Any ideas?

If all items are brand new there is a fault in the ballast or the sun-t, take back to where u got it from and have them look at it...

I have only had one globe do this, funnily enough it fires alright if hung vertically but if horizontal (ie in a cooltube or batwing) it won't fire and just sparks like you describe.

I have another globe that is identical and it works fine either way.

its no doubt one of those new infra-red lights...

 

The light it emits is not visable to humans, but the plants love it...

I get more light when I light a fart, take it back to shop.

Have you tried ensuring the bulb is fully screwed in?

have a look at the little ring in there its not touching properly might have been bumped around or manufactured wrong take it back
