dwc water level?

Couple of questions.Im not sure how much water to put in a dwc bucket. Is it about half inch past the bottom of the net pot? Also if using perlite as medium should it be watered from the top aswell if the perlite dries out a bit.

Also if someone used thrive fert for outdoor plants in their dwc bucket is that ok untill they got some proper nutrient?

And how often does the nutrient have to be added?I know water should be replaced every 2 weeks but not sure on if thats the only time to add nutrient.

There are literally dozens of threads on here with tips for DWC systems, have a browse through the Hydroponics topic and you will find heaps of info, grow diaries can also be a great source of first hand experience.

For an almost faultless setup see here... http://www.cannaversity.com/cannaversity/article.php?id=097

If you can emulate that you are well on your way to a top shelf grow system.

The more you read the less you have to learn the hard way.

Had a fiddle with the search and is now returning results for DWC, more than likely was affecting other similar search terms but the fix may begin to throw other search results off. If you do run into anymore issues using the search please start a topic in the support forums.

With the water level iv read that once there are roots coming out of the net pot water level should be about an inch below pot.But i have also read that you need the level just touching the bottom of the pot.

So if i use the first way im worried about the roots closest to the actual plant drying out cause they are exposed to air.But if i do the second way im worried about drowing the plant.Iv never done the dwc thing before so i just want to get it right the first time round.
