Ordering Online & Delivery

Hey guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster! It’s nice to finally be taking the plunge! Great to meet you all, by the way.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Ebay thread, but it's pretty long-winded so I thought I'd just make a separate thread. After being fed up with having to get average quality MJ through crappy dealers, I’ve decided that it’s time to start growing a plant of my own for personal use. I already have my feminised White Widow seeds, and after doing a lot of research (from OSA, mostly. lol), I’ve decided on all the equipment I’ll need for some indoor stealth growing.

Now for the hard part – actually getting the equipment!!! I’m so close, but completely paranoid with this part. I live in NSW...HOWEVER...I’ve decided to move to Queensland, and will be doing so in about a month, give or take. From what I’ve read, QLD is one of the strictest of all states when it comes to this stuff. But after reading the Ebay thread, obviously NSW isn’t much better. I’ve decided that I just want to get the equipment already so I can just start growing some awesome White Widow the second I’m settled in QLD! :yahoo: I only have a very small budget, and it seems that buying from local stores can be pretty risky too and more expensive, so I think I’ll just have to go with online ordering.

It looks like my best bet is with Aussieponics, as I can buy everything I need from the one site pretty cheaply. I read the bad stories about Discount Hydroponic Supplies, and as Aussieponics isn’t based in NSW I figure it should be a tad safer. I have no problem getting a prepaid credit card to purchase my stuff with (it’s exactly what I did when buying the seeds, and had no problems whatsoever).

I guess I’m just paranoid with the delivery of the equipment. I live in an apartment, and ordering larger stuff like this will just get taken straight to the post office because I work business hours and won’t be at home to receive the delivery (and I believe that picking up from the post office requires proof of ID? I don’t see how that will work if I use a fake name). Unfortunately delivering to a friend’s address is also out of the question…I’m the only pro-MJ guy in my group and having anything MJ-related delivered to them instead would NOT go down well. So I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on any other safe avenues of ordering online?

Probably a stupid question, but has anybody ordered equipment and had it delivered to their workplace? Again I could order with a prepaid CC, have it sent to work, and with discreet packaging no-one would suspect anything (heck, everyone here at work orders personal stuff and has it shipped here because it’s just so convenient). And hey, I’ll be quitting and leaving for QLD soon regardless! :harhar:

Do you think it would be safer if I just wait until I get to QLD and then make the order? Could you guys suggest any better ideas? Sorry if these are silly questions, but I just couldn’t find much info relating to my situation.

One last question – I want to be a bit healthier and have decided to start smoking through a vaporiser...so I’ll have to order one of them too. Are the cops just as anal about vaporisers as they are about hydroponic equipment? Or are they safe to order online?

Thanks in advance! :applause:

Ok cheers guys. Yeah you're right Buegeman it's not illegal to buy, but I guess I just got really paranoid when I read your ebay thread and Chronmasta's bad story with the cops (NSW actually have a task force dedicated to track people who buy hydroponic equipment?!).

But yeah I definitely won't be growing in NSW so I won't be doing anything with the equipment here. Still, just to be safe, I'll order with a prepaid CC behind a proxy. So buying a vaporiser online shouldn't be a problem either?

Mate as the above have said, I personally recon your nuts ordering a bulk shipment online well you leave the company with all your shipping info and what not. If anything do what jimbo says and park round the corner and take a bag or back pack with you, that's obviously somewhat discreet. In addition to this make sure you pay in cash and I personally wouldn't be going to a store and buying a nutload of lights, fans and what not......if I were you I'd go to a couple of stores and buy pieces of equipment from each one. This way the bloke in the shop who generally doesn't give a f*#k doesn't care and if he does well you've only bought one fan so even if he thinks your growing he knows your just doing it for personal use and not some big commercial set up

The guy in the store dosnt want his customers getting raided because he loses all future business from them.

But the cops can audit the store and they will be looking for anyone who has made big bulk purchases

If your buying one light and 2 fans and some bits and bobs, you are pretty safe...

The cops seem to be reluctant to operate outside their own state, so your in a good situation to be buying your setup.

I would buy all yur gear there and bring it with you to qld.

Buy it online with a prepaid cc, its cheaper, and have it sent to your workplace. It will come all wrapped up in black plastic, no descriptions or prices on the packaging.

If your gunna buy heaps of gear, break it down in to multiple purchases from different stores so it dosnt stand out as a big order. You should be ok if your only doing a small setup anyway.
