My 1st grow

Well I today received my seeds (Thx my friend)

 

I have planted 9 very berry's (OZCO – seeds) and 5 ducksfeet (Ducksfoot - Wally Duck)

 

I soaked a egg carton in drinking water. I then proceeded to fill up the cups with seed raising mix then planted my seeds. I watered them slightly. They are sitting in a box full of seed raising mix under my desk The box is wrapped in a blanket and a steel top covering it (With air holes). This is next to a heater that I keep going most of the time. 12 seeds total were planted in this manner 4 ducks and 8 Berry’s.

 

I also planted a seed of each strain in separate pots filled with seed raising mix. They were then put into empty fish tank on top of my desk. There is a light positioned to keep a small amount of warmth there. I watered these two sparingly with drinking water

Ok I have been busy so not much time to post...

 

I have been putting my babies out side at day time the last few days and returning them to my window still at night they are now about half an inch high and a few have lovely purple stems

 

Although one is about an inch from stretch. Today I set up a few lights, A large spotlight, a 50w cf a 100w cf and a 60 reflector bulb. I hope to get a few more fluros to get rid of the spot light and the incandescent globe. I’m planning on getting a few 70w HPS's for VEG and Flowering.

They are only wasting power anyway, drop the fluoro's down so that they are only 50-75cm above the plants.

fluros 50-75cm away? Wouldn't do a lot.... Fluros loose most of there lumens after 2 inches or so i have my CF's 0.5-1inch away... fluros arnt hot so they cant burn your plants

yea true... Just wanted to clarify so Black_One dosn't go and put his fluros half a m away and get stretched out plants

Yeah Id get rid of the incandescent - theyre too hot to get close and theyre usually in the hot spectrum .: theyre useless. The spotlight is probably expensive to run also.

 

I suggest 1 or 2 CFs spotlights for now if you cant afford much more than a bulb - theyre cheap and reliable [rip the cover off if it has one]. Dont waste your good seeds growing stringy buds.

Bunnings has a pack of 4 18 or 20w Cfs for just 19$

 

If you dont have enough sockets... goto bigw or kmart and try find a cheap lamp that is a big damaged or something.... i got one for like 5 bux just smashed the lamp off and was left with a nice socket with a on/off switch..... Will be cheaper then buying the socket by itself

 

And one CF is heaps for a few litlte seedlings until they start getting a few leaves then add a few more CF's

 

Make sure you buy the cool white CF's aswell the warm red ones actaully get pretty hot (hot enuff to burn) as i have one that mixes in with a few cool whites

There’s close to 20 seedlings In the time since my last post they have stretched about 2.5 cms. I think I will have to buy a few more CF's tomorrow So I don’t end up With 20 foot tall plants The only thing is they have much larger leaf’s after the few hours in the closet. Pics as soon as I get my made in *#%@& Digi cam fixed. Thanks for the info all

 

I already had my Cf's about 2cm's away from my Babies any suggestions for hardware nutes? I heard that African Violet food is good for flowering what about Seedlings?
