Recommended Posts

Two men have been charged after police seized more than 14kg of cannabis on the NSW south coast.

A 49-year-old Nowra man was stopped as he drove his car through the Wollongong suburb of Berkeley shortly after midnight on Friday, police say.

Police searched the car and allegedly discovered 14kg of cannabis in the boot.

A small quantity of amphetamines was also allegedly seized.

Acting on information, police stopped a second car and allegedly seized a further 478g of cannabis.

The first man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug (deemed to be for supply) and will appear before Wollongong Local Court on Friday.

A 32-year-old man, also from Nowra, was charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of a prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on March 1.

A third man was released without charge pending further investigations.
