How safe is an indoor system ?

Hello there, if one was to have a indoor hydro system , for instance in a metal cabinet then in ones closet just as an example, with two florescent lights and four LED light systems, plus pump, air pump, on an safety cutout power board , running of another power board and two timers, how safe is this ? I would be paranoid about leaving such a system running while at work. Is there things you can do to fail safe you system ? has anyone had any fires break out etc, also do you have to have you lights in sync with your time zone or can you have lights on of a night and off during day ? . Probably silly questions to you guys but I am new and thought you dudes might be able to help.

Thanks Guys ...

Its as safe as you make it, but if you set it up properly, i would say its plenty safe.

Take into account how much heat it will generate and manage that heat with exhaust fans, make sure your not over loading a power circuit, make sure you have a saftey switch in your switch board...

You can run lights at night and off by day, as long as your carefull not to let any outside light leak in to your plants while they are flowering...

If your that worried, get some home and contents insurance!

I've had my setup running for close to 5yrs now and apart from a res that cracked and leaked, I have had no accidents or problems.

This I attain to the reading I did on this forum before I began, all the info you need is right here.

Obviously you don't overload circuits, have poor construction or tell anyone about it.

With common sense and not cutting corners, you will be growing for years to come.
