I grow in my tin garage as well. Forced to unfortunately. I use a 1m x 1m x 2m tent. Heat is always an issue. I run a 400w normal reflector (have used a cool tube in there but went back to the old reflector) It gets pretty hot but I run my light so it is on about 6pm until about 10am next day in veg and from about 8pm till 8am flower. still have heat issues but the plant/plants handle it pretty much ok. Bit of heat stress but nothing that probably would not be happening outside during a heat wave. If I think it is getting too hot then I put the inlet duct (outside portion of duct) over a bucket of very cold water it pulls a few degrees off the inlet air via evaporation and also gets a bit of humidity happening inside.

I grow in potting mix. Insulating the pots may work but may also keep any heat build up in. I also leave the side door open on the garage to try and get the air moving, if you can leave a door open or a window to keep the air moving it may help.

Good luck.

Hey brick,

Just curious as why you wouldnt use your cooltube since you already have one and heat is an issue for you...

Cos I was still pulling heat and lots of dust on a windy day through it and had to keep cleaning it. Tried air con filter material but it slowed the air down a lot. Too much of a hassel undoing the ducting every week or so. I would definately use it if I was in the house though. I just make sure the medium does not get to dry. Have a look in the photo gallery for my latest pic, it was taken just before watering, I accidently let it go one day more than I should have. I think the indica dominant strains can take a bit more dry heat, within reason, than the sativa dominant strains. My end result may be lower in quantity but that does not worry me as I am after quality.

And I usually grow out doors but cannot this year due to building going up next door. The highest temp I have had in there was 37oc plant looked a bit sad but perked up after a drink.

sounds about the same size of my wardrobe... use a 400... cuz with flouros... im afraid youll still be paying 300 and ounce for weed when you yeild fuck all and have to buy it any ways...

a 2 pot recirc system will fit perfectly.. you should yeild upto 8 or so ounces depending on the grow and strain...

For the exact same space I had CFLs. about 8x25W on the sides and 2x125W from the top, later replaced them with 2x250W CFLs.

Plants grow very slowly and small, light buds.

On the weekend I took out all CFLs and replaced with 1x600W Lucagrow HPS and Lumatek ballast. Not using any more electricity than before but the light intensity of the HPS doesn't even compare to the CFLs - at least judging by the human eye.

Sure, heat starts to become an issue with HPS but air flow seems to be good enough and I have them on at night when it's cooler.

Now those girls better not take 6 months to flower.
