LED GROW LIGHTS REALY WORK?

Well I like many other new to indoor growing are interested in the possability of using led lighting for a grow.

 

What are the problems associated with led lights and the different lights available?

 

How much should one spend on led lights if thats the way you want to go?

 

Do they work?

 

I propose to test the led lights available on the net and will purchase a LED 400w or greater light to see what yeilds are acheivable with the led system.

 

Stay tuned as over the next few weeks months I will set up the grow in a tent 1m x 1m x 1.8m and run the system with a clone of a plant I have grown B4 and know the expected yeild of (aprox 6 ounces under two 400 w hps lamps).

dont waste ya money, LED's are good for cloning...that's about it. And for the price your better going CFL's. You wont even get close to 6oz with led's. the buds will have no density.

Yeah they work, if youre going to spend a shitload on buying the newage extremely expensive led panels and what not ... and still only see fairly mediocre results .....

Its not a competition burnz, as if to say my crop is better than your crop, his just using it as a control plant because he knows how much it yeilds.

 

By all means do a test grow with the LED lighting to see the difference, but it will no doubt result in a smaller yeild than a HID light of similar wattage.

 

The advantage being the LED would run cooler, but like sytha said, CFLs might be a better cool alternative to HPS.

All the pro-growers hate LEDs, its a good indication of their performance.
