What should I do?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have problem with my two tomato plants, out of 4 seedlings those two always were slower with growth indoors, so i have put them outside and now one of them started to flower ( and its a female :D ). This plant is only 15 cm tall and it just started to grow healthy, and now im stuck and i dont know what to do.

I was thinking if i could reverse it back to vegging abd chop it up and make clones out of it...

I dont want it to flower now coz its gonna be waste of them nice looking female, what should i do with it?

I've got the same problem at my place - even at the longest daylight hours my girls went to flower immediately. :wallbash:

All I can suggest is what I had to do - take them indoors and vege them under lights until you are ready to flower them. The plant will take a week or so to revert to vege, you may get some mongy growth as well but it should be apples after that.

ohh but there is another problem, they were outdoors and i think that they have some insects living in the soil, and a bit worried if i put it together with my other plants under HIDs indoor then, insects or fugus living on this plant will affect my healthy crop :(.. what to do then?

Spray it with anti-insect spray? :D

Hi there Greenbug,

I agree with the others put her inside under 18/6 and she'll revert back to veg.

Let her grow a bit then take clones.

As for your bug problem, I'd be spraying it all with pyrethium. Make sure you spray the whole plant especially under the leaves where bugs like to hide. Pyrethium is a natural plant based insecticide and kills most bugs. You may need more than one application to kill them all off. Also have a look at the bugs and pest section and see if you can identify the bugs you have. There may actually be a specific spray for that specific bug you can use. For instance spidermite, I haven't had much luck using pyrethium on these little bastards but there is a specific miticide that works brilliantly. Have a look investigate then take appropriate action, but do so before moving her inside. The last thing you want is to contaminate everything.
