what's the average flowering time?

Howdy folks

 

I probably sound like a right newbie...( which is what I am )

 

I have a general question about flowering time. I turned my girls over to 12/12 on the 1st of december. They are two totally different plants..one tall and leggy..the other short and bushy as. (i broke all her arms while she was small, and just tipped the tall one to see the effect on both).

 

The big leggy looks like they are coming along nicely... the short one is catching up now I managed to get it closer to the light. They're on an auto pot system.. both had identical feeding. Looks to me like one will be ready wayyyy before the other. What is the average flowering time for hydro? I know it can vary with strains.. I have no idea what breed these two are, they were just random bag seed.

 

Anyways, thought I'd post a couple of pics for feedback.

It is strain dependent and also it is up to the individual when to harvest.

If you have a read Here will give you some idea.

I understand the concept of the trichomes. I bought a jewellers loop off ebay for checking them Keeping an eye on the biggest one, but really hoping they puf out a bit more before its due.

 

I think in my naievty I'm just assuming that they would both be ready at the same time given the same conditions they were grown under. (which really makes no sense at all when i think about it... they were two totally different random seeds.)

 

IM thinking I may have to pull the big one first and leave the little one in a bit longer.

 

I'm chomping at the bit to get these babies out and try my luck with DWC method and a clone off the biggest one. Least after this run I'll have a rough idea of flowering time for this strain.

 

Im still very green (pardon the pun) at this stuff.. Im sure once i've done a couple of runs I'll have more of a clue. Thansk for your feedback

Hey Sparky, personaly mate id go the full 8 weeks of flowering then check the trichs with the loop

 

The longer you let it flower the more couch lock the stone will be, as Rev said its up to the individual when to harvest.
