Are you using potting mix?

If so I recommend you change over to Coco Coir, it's the bomb.

Here is a great chart to ensure you get your HPS light at the right height above the Plants

cheers for advise buzzo

i am using poting mix the now but when i re-plant into a 10l pot i will be use coco coir

and canna a-b nuits mt.

Heya Gr4h4m =), Mate, that ventilation needs to go much higher, the hot air will rise and collect in the apex of your roof, so you will be recycling the cooler air that is lower. That will melt ya snow on the roof, depending on how many lights...........

I know ya haven't finished plumbing it up, so try and change it now. In all honesty mate, with that size light all that area is not needed.

IMO, go on the net, order a decent sized tent (Mylar inside), there are some bloody big buggers if you wanna go large , put that in the room. Will also help mask ya heat signiture, as long as you vent to outside.....................or how bout this............... you have central heating obviously...........how about shut it off up there while ya lights are on and turn it on when lights are off. Should stop the snow melting  .

As long as ya don't go TOO big the heat will be background radiation, comparable to ya central heating temps.

I would also recommend a cold air mix with your exhaust hot air, use a Y piece before the fan, one goes to ya room/tent to vent it and the other pulls cold outside air into the fan as well (make this one about 1/5 the size of the one venting the room, so the mix of hot and cold lowers the temp of air before it exits the attic.

Have done this in a mates place in Holland and worked well.

Have a think mate, don't be in a rush and sure you will come up with the answers........... Hope that helps..... :peace: Gh72

Maybe ask Whazzup if he can give ya some tips , he's in cold climate too and a lighting guy, he might know some lil tricks. He's a top bloke to boot.

alright gr4h4m, nice space you have there mate. first thing i'd do if i was you would be try and sort out some insulation for it. i know its freezing in scotland just now - and is for much of the year :D i veg in my loft, similar to yours but just smaller and i struggle with the cold at this time of year no end.

how much light are you putting in mate?? could be an idea to partition a veg area off

oh, and dont worry too much about the choppers unless your planning maximum wattage ;)

thats sound its insulated, if you do end up having probs with temps at lights off then its always something to think about for raising the temps in the groom though (insulation around the black and white mylar to keep the cold out). you've plenty of space for a veg area, doesn't even need to be that big either mate and it means you cut out roughly 4 weeks of time better used for flowering what you've just been vegging in the other room.

all the best with it gr4h4m :peace:
