Hey wjr =) , Yeah mate, that's referred to as a passive intake, but better to drag ALL your air in through the bottom, the air at the top will be hot air and you don't want to drag that into the grow area. You may run into problems with light getting out through the gaps too.

I use a tent, then I don't have to worry too much about leaks. They have passive air intakes and you can cut a hole for a fan down low if you want an active intake........... I just like em, makes it hell easy. If your like me and have rent inspections they are easy to stash away and the good ones are lined inside with Mylar for good reflection. But if ya want to build ya own, plenty of people do and they come up good. Check out Dani's Tent Build.......give ya some ideas.............:peace: h72

ROFL. Sounds like an experience all noobs should have a go at, to me, GH

You do not want gaps. You need to light seal your tent/room/area. No light in and no light out. If you're gonna have a passive intake, it would be better to seal the tent. Then cut a hole to size for a piece of ducting, to be sure you have a light seal. You can bend the ducting and light won't go around corners.
