The Sydney Cannabis Cup 2003

Dr doug told me last night that I have been assigned online co-ordinator for the up coming cup. The details so far are it will be held on the second weekend in November. I presumed Saturday the 8th. All entries must be in by the end of October. This opens several questions of which a response was blurry.

The first question is to where it is to be held? Due to the horror's he encountered in Brookvale I doubt it be on the North Shore. The venue has yet to be arranged and is anyone's guess. Hopefully not to far anyway.

How much and what prizes was told to me but is a blur. I will update this posting when I get more info. Anyone wanting to message Dr Doug can foward them through me (sigh)

To sum up is Dr Doug is keen as while a bit scattered with the details and all. The Cup is on, for those also mustard.

 

*A bit a gos is the "Cannabis Cup" copyright was challenged by the American Mull monthly, um.., I forgot. But anyway Dr Doug found it highly amusing. All details ask him, it think it's history now, but did cause mild concern (for me not him). :mellow:

Good question. I think you can get tickets previously or on the day. I am talking to Doug today so I get back to you all. These questions will be answered maybe. Since I am relatively new to this Cup thing I am not sure how he organises judges etc. Once again I'll get back.

S0 after speaking to Douge I have established these few things:

1) It is to be held in a "Canna House" in Redfern on the 8th of November

2) The tickets, venue and prizes are yet to be organised.

3) $2000 will be spent on the prizes

4) A po box to send entries too is yet to organised also.

 

To sum up. It's open to all and is very sketchy on details. I think it's forty a ticket to be bought, where and when I don't know. Keep posted.

I found that all the numerous bowls etc did have careful eye watching but there's was no one that didn't offer a toke (at 2002) After two minutes asking I discovered the mull was on tap from several sources to smoke only. None to buy. So many growers had an unspoken (I didn't hear it) pact not to sell on the day, so there's none for sale but plenty to mull. Of the dozen billy's and more bowls the was plenty to be had for all. After asking one bloke I was given a bowl and scissors and bud which took me four cigarettes and twenty minutes to mull, then no-one wanted. Sigh.

The forty goes towards the roast, salad, rolls and drinks. Mull and prizes are put on by Doug and the growers.

I was told (as I had arrived late) everyone missed the presentation cermony last year. There should be that and the "J" rolling competition on the day. There's a very adhock feel to "2002" in Brooky but seen through a haze under the bright lights in the Canna display was very comfortable. There were more people than I expected at about 200 to 300 hundred all up. There's was only about 40 inside at one time.

No drinking. Which sucks but knowing the idiot behaviour of drunks understandable. Soft drinks were on tap but ran out, so I would suggest bringing a bottle of coke. (unopened) Bring your billy too. Canna had a few fliers and a display.

Else? It is on in Redfern and the address is almost confirmed. 8th and 9th of November (how long does it take?) Hopefully it'll come together in time. Doug said he's putting up $2K for the cups.

For us northern cousins that want to go to THE CUP is there some cheap transport and acc near the venue and if so can u pm me please as this will give me time to save for my sojourn to THE CUP.

Glad to hear the cups still going ahead... Unsure if theres any canna hotels but would be a good idea.... or maybe a bus load of stoners from each direction...
