Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Dont know wats up with me lovelies was wondering if you guys had any ideas?

Hubbie thinks there over watered.........

Outdoorys, planted end of Sept in Martins prem potting mix,

seedsoil + Pwr/feed fortnightly, watered once a day in hot weather, ever cpl of days when not.

over all plants seem healthy and happy small leaves around base yellowing and dying off

I didnt see a prob with this as my toms always do it......

but now my indicas large fan leaves at the top are bronzing from the middle out ??? never seen this before

few white spots and such on lower leaves and small amount of chew damage cant see any mites on leaves

there are a few small black flies hovering round, no larve or catapillars and some ants in my garden bed

next to the pots no ants on or in pots or soil they are too busy eaying my Kale =( lol

my sativa seems ok except for the yellow of the bottom leaves which as I said seems normal to me but I may be wrong

Thanks in advance Debs

Hi debs,

The lower damage, spotty white leaves, does look like spider mite damage, make sure you check the underside of the leaves.

The other damage is unusual but looks like it's only confined to one part of the plant which makes me sorta think it was contaminated by something...

Good luck sorry i can't help more.

peace

I agree with chato, you have spider mite damage. If you can get some really cold water and hit the underside of the leaves with a high pressure spray bottle. Then buy some eco oil from bunnings and give them a spray under the leaves saturate the whole plant (make sure you do it when the sun is not shining on them, give the tomatoes a blast as well) wait about five days then do it again. If that does not work go to a hydro shop and get some super powerful mite spray. I have used "Nite nite spider mite and two sprays were all it needed. Expensive @ 35$ for 500mill. but it goes a long way. The yellowing leaves shouldn't be a worry unless the whole plant starts to yellow then it is usually a nitrogen deficiency.

What mulch are you using? If it is sugar cane mulch then be careful, I bought some and there was a warning on the bag saying it could contain fungi, protezoa (spelling) and bacteria even legionellas disease.

If it is pea straw then you should never have probs with nitrogen.

hi guys

thanks for the quick responses

cant see any mites but will spray with cold water just in case as dont want them to start effin with my yeild

yes I am using sugar cane mulch will pull it off asap and buy some pea straw

not really worried about the mites (only minor damage on the bottom of the plant will keep in check)

really worried about the bronzing on the top two fan leaves its seems really odd to be coming out from the

midrib???? do you think I should remove it and if it is contamitated what could it be and could it spread ?

just worried as I moved them to make sure they were getting enough sun and now they are in another more

humid area of my yard should I move them back even though they will only be getting 9 hrs worth of sun.

Does anyone think we are watering too much? what are the signs of over watering?

sooooo many questions not really stressed though its all lessons learned and any money saved in my pocket

is better than in me dudes pocket loz

thanks again =) debs

I wouldn't worry about a couple of leaves. I have had that happen to some out door plants, I just leave them and they drop off. Lift the pots up, if they feel light then they will need water. After a water if you get some run off then pick them and feel how heavy they are, or stick your pinky into the soil all the way down to the knuckle you should be able to feel if they are dry or not. Wash you hands before and after you do this.

Take the mites seriously, they can ruin a plant quicker than any over watering, under watering, or too much or to little nutes. They are the scourge of all plants.:peace:

Droopy leaves can be a sign of over watering. I don't think that is your problem.

Yeah dont let the dude get the money.:applause:
