DWC method

Maybe some easier pics for you to understand :photo:

Two buckets linked by black hose (ignore the other plugged connections at bottom of buckets) Tap on hose coming out the control bucket is for regulating the flow. post-5655-0-64562200-1294501771_thumb.jpg

Pump in the control bucket with tap from it for draining and regulating flow, also aerates the bucket. post-5655-0-75405100-1294501805_thumb.jpg

Water going into the bucket with the plant, can use any attachments I only had tees so i just capped an end. post-5655-0-54075800-1294502213_thumb.jpg

Bottom of the netpot (my homebrand getto style lol) and water flow. post-5655-0-43432300-1294501880_thumb.jpg

Pic of aeration in the bucket. post-5655-0-93610100-1294501978_thumb.jpg

Doesn't have to be fancy just want to keep the water level and make it easy to drain and fill for yourself. Hope that helps :)

Cheers Chato :) great help with the pics.

I think I finally have the buckets organised..

I put a cap around the lid on the grow bucket so pot will sit higher:post-41195-0-12939500-1294652725_thumb.jpg

Blue lid just covers hole in lid of control bucket , have put a tap on the feeder plus one on the return to make draining easy:post-41195-0-58056900-1294652767_thumb.jpg

have cable tied attachments on fish pump so they dont fall out. and drilled a 13mm hole in the lid of the grow bucket so the feeder pipe just sits snug in the hole.

All this will be going into this space which is a wet area. (still have to line the room)

post-41195-0-90355400-1294652873_thumb.jpg

Im anxiously awaiting my airstones and air pump. Looking to transfer everything over once I've harvested.

I love this shit :)

Once I have everything ready to go.. will post some more pics for feedback if thats cool :)

Thanks again :thisbig:

Looks schmick mate  Coming together very nicely.

Actually a good idea for dwc is growing in areas that have a drain in the floor lol. I've had some bad experiences with dumping 200lts+ of water thru the floor onto downstairs neighbours ceiling and it aint fun :wallbash: Just be conscious of high humidity and mould, bad spots will be behind the lining an on the tiles and will possibly spread from there so keep your eyes open.

Another thing is those taps on your lines are great but really to make easy draining you want to run a T from the INline before the tap. From the T you need a small piece of hose an another tap so you can turn off the INline to the plant but the pump will still flow thru the small piece and tap then onto a drain line you attach and run to the drain or bucket. Also remember to turn taps on an off . With taps on both your in and out lines (and a third drain tap) it's very easy to turn one off whilst doing some maintenance or mucking around and then forget to turn it back on and buckets overflow.Sounds simple but I do it a lot, then again maybe i'm just simple lol

Lastly 24.8 is pushing the threshold of water temps and you aint got your lights on.... You ideally want your water constantly between 22-24, any swings in temp you want to be colder than 22 not hotter than 24 if you know what i mean. DWC in an Aussie summer is a big challenge without a chiller or a/c. You will see other growers around the site struggling in different mediums because of the heat and they aint even doing the most heat sensitive systems like dwc or aero.

Apart from that all looks kosher, best of luck mate and any questions fire away.

Peace

c

Thanks heaps mate :) lol @ simple... I highly doubt it.. if you're anything like me we're just forgetful stoners sometimes.:bang:

. will be mindful of the water temp.. fortunately I live in the VERY south tip of Aus so our summer is not as harsh.

Will also keep the mould in mind too.. fortunately I have fresh air available to the room that is pretty much a guerilla. Considering the centrifugal fan ducting too.

Will see how I go... still a week or two away from ebay stuff arriving.. and I cant change over til my others are ready. (about another two weeks also). Will get some pics up before I bubble up and ask you for some more feedback if thats cool.

:yahoo:I"m excited chato :) cheers mate :)

Ok... so its taken me a while to get back here.. but have I have been busy....

Got my other two up from the autopot system... alas budding room was a premium towards the end and I didnt end up with as much as I would have liked. BUt hey...still happy for a first run.

Have started my DWC method now... and so far so good I think. Well she's growing like wildfire at the moment so I'm tipping on sorta on the right track (Thanks to Chato for your awesoem advice).

Here's a few pics... I had a couple of clones sitting in24/7light from a 2x14w fluro..... Only moved one so far in case I had problems.

Here she is...

Day 1.... into the bucket post-41195-0-09759000-1297029143_thumb.jpg

Forgive the fact Im a forgetful stoner... I couldnt remember which forum I started my DWC in. Will try and stay in this one as it seems the most logical.

Thanks for all the advice offered so far... the lttle girl seems to be growing like a weed...

My screen is 900x900 and currently poorly suspended with a couple of old coat hangers. I've actually been down and screwed plenty of hanging points into the floor joists.

Need a little bit of catenary wire (which I'll pick up tomorrow) and support it properly with a couple of gripples. (fortunately at the moment the stem is strong enough to support its own weight

Its now day 13 of 18/6... and I reckon I'll flip them over tonight to 12/12.

Just a curiosity about the nute level in the buckets..

Ive got a 10cm round airstone in each bucket being fed from a 4 channel airpump. (so plenty of bubbles) now that the root ball is fairly well hanging right outand established am I better off keeping the water level a little lower to prevent root rot?

Also... how much of the leaves should I trim when it starts to bud? willit hurt it to go harsh and open it up? or better to remove little but often?

Thanks heaps for having a look...
