micromoles versus lumens / lux

Hi Whazzup,I am very interested in what brand of HPS globe or globes you prefer for the highest {PPFD}rating in 600watt HPS & 1000watt HPS,globes I have been using GE LUCAGROW globes,an was going to give the Sunpules globes a go to see how they go,your reply would be very much appreciated,Regards Dingo-2008. Sorry I'm not around more. What we have seen so far is that the European lamps are superior to the chinese and US lamps in PAR output. We only measure micromoles here in Europe, lots of other manufacturers still hang on to lumens and even par watts, claiming the highest output. GE lamps are good lamps, we use the lucolox a lot in horticultural projects. In our opinion the best lamps at this moment are the Philips Electronic lamps. The catch is that they are developed together with the optimal electronic Philips ballast which runs on 400V. The good news is that Gavita Holland brings these lumniaries in a 230V version for the hobby market. The 600W EL does 1170 micromoles, the 1000W double ended lamp does over 1900 micromoles. And even better: they have a light maintenance of more than 95% over 5000 hours. More at the Gavita Holland web site. Edited by whazzup
