hi all. i am starting a project with 2 main tubs, 1 plant per tub. 2 tubs per plant 1 for medium and the plant and 1 for the water flow and roots to grow in. I will be using clayballs as the medium as well as horse shoes with a 500lph pump to feed the 2 plants. For the water flow i will use 3000lph pump that will pump the water from the resivor to each bottom pot to keep a nice flow going. I am vegging 2 plants for 8 weeks becuase i want to pull atleast 2 pound per plant, i am pulling 1 pound per plant vegging them for 4 weeks so what do use think about vegging them for 8 weeks?

also take into consideration the 2 plants will have 1 full 1000 watt light each to grow under. How long does everyone think i realy should veg for if i want 2 pound per plant? i have the perfect growing enviroment.

 

here is a diagram of how i want my setup to be...any suggestion would be wonderfull...

Question, why two pumps? Is one for the plant establishment and once the roots are down the other for flooding? or are you running both at once?

1 pump for feeders they come on every 4 hours for 15mins and i need a constant water flow so i need a second pump.

try to get pounds outa your plants is just too risky for me .

 

if you got a real good performer , spread the load , grow 4 plants then you only looking for half a p each plant and still veg for 4 wks .

Hey merlin,

 

Cant he just throw an airstone in the res for the roots to get air? otherwise how does DWC work with roots underwater?

Yeah Pleb, no worries but with a 3000lph pump plus a 500ltr/hr pump for 2 plants? why both and 3500ltr/hr thats one huge resivoir. With that sort of volume I'd be putting the airstones in the pots.

I would question the need for 2 x 1000 watt lights too...

 

Better that you have more plants to use all the wasted light, keep them smaller, harvest quicker

Dolmio states he is starting a project...and I don't know if he's a noob or not but even for some 'experts' 2 pound per plant, thats hopeful, very hopeful. It would be more likely to go 1/2pd per plant and have 4-6 plants

As we have no room dimensions its hard to say for the lights,

"keep them smaller, harvest quicker" less veg time to fill the space yes, but still the same time in 12/12

 

My question is around topfeeding and root feeding and why Dolmio wants to use both??
