25000k vs 2700k cfl

Recommended Posts

Hi all, this is my first post here and I must say this is a great forum.

I was wondering if anyone has used the 25000k light solely for flowering? I have been looking at the spectrum charts from grow-lush and the 25000k seems to have more light in the red spectrum than the 6400k, would this mean that there is more effective color for bud growth? I have a 125w 25000k CFL already and I will be getting another globe soon and I would like some help deciding on either a 2700k or 25000k.

I also have a 125w 15000k CFL that I found really good for veg, I might still add a 6400k to the grow for comparison and extra light.

Stay Stoned,

Peace

even though i'm a noob.. i did alot of reading before deciding on my setup.. but i remember reading somewhere that the 25000k was more a veg compliment light.. something about the light it produces promotes root growth without promoting actual plant growth so it's good for small cab stealthy type grows.. i'm pretty sure it's not a flower light though.. go the 2700k for that.. but.. if ur running multiple cfl's.. chuck a 25 in to mix it up and see if there's any difference on ur next grow.

then again.. i could also be completely wrong.

good luck.

I would still stick to a 2700k for red spectrum flowering.

Even though the 25000k is red spectrum,

most pages say they are for propergation and veg??

I am confused about this also.

I have been researching the CFL's.

I really want to use them. For the lack of heat that

they produce.

Every webpage has different specifcations for the cfl's.

Lumens is the big one. Thier specifications on lumens,

differ anywhere up to 50% on some pages.

I just want ONE CORRECT SPEC PAGE FOR CFL's!!

I have even read books that are wrong about CFL's?

It makes me furious that people publish incorrect information,

and get royalties for it. >:(

Maybe all CFL's are all individually, specifically different

from manufacturer to manufacturer. I doubt it. :scratchin:

Try to research information about CFLs that dosnt come from a company selling it. They are always going to present their products in a positive way, and not point out its weakness. Its their job to sell lights and make money, not to educate people properly :wallbash: :crybaby:

I see CFLs as a nice compliment to a HID light, rather than an alternative... but thats just my opinion
