What to do with 8 foot high plants?

Recommended Posts

great, thanks mate! I've just tied them down, close to the ground. Due to the size of the buggers I had to point and tie each stem in different directions, so the plants are now fanned out with the centre exposed. Most of the stems have their tips close to a foot from the ground now, and I'm suddenly aware of just how bloody big they are. :applause: I now have to crawl in under them on me knees to get to the tomatoes!

:peace:

Sorry mate, I missed your last post while I was out tying the plants down. Yeah I aint crappin on about their height and I did measure them a couple of days ago, which is what prompted me to get online and get some info quickly. Here's a pic of a stem, with a spice jar next to it, to give you some context. The stem is thicker than the jar. Hope that clears up any doubt.

Thanks for the compliment Dark, and the tip Phreak. :peace: I hadn't thought of that, although I did pull three other males from the same strain and shifted them 150 acres away when they were about a month old(just to be sure!) and I've now got a few good seeds from them. I've also got a mob of ferals arriving tomorrow so goodness knows what the outcome of this little grow-your-own attempt will be. I'd put it in the lap of the Gods, if I believed in Gods. But I only believe in energy so I just keep trying to put out good energy as well as invite it back.

Time for my milk and cookie! :stunned:

It seems like you are on a winner. I did my first grow in Southern Victoria in 2010 and had the same problem with them growing well over a 2 metre fence. I found a rose spray on fertilizer called Growth Technologies at Bunnings and it made 'em go berserk. I also will give Chronmasta's brew a whirl on my grow this year. They are not growing like last year, maybe the rain has been a bit much, but are starting to show some promise with a bit drier weather. Lotsa luck, mate.
