Spider mite remedys?

Recommended Posts

If i've learnt one thing growing,

that is...

"Dont mess with spider mites!"

If your indoors you need to hit em hard and fast and with something toxic like mite-rid or dead-red or something similar.

Outdoors you can try things like neem oil (i don't rate it highly, spider mites are very resilient) etc if you wanna try and stay organic, introduce natural predators and the like, but the garlic spray isn;t worth the effort imo and same with most of the other remedies when it comes to spider mites.

They will decimate you quickly.

peace

AH the fuckers found me this year ive read up a few home made remedys but none that have a recipie its just a bit of this and a bit of that.

i wanted to try the dish washing liquid and garlic spray, can anyone tell me how to make it? or some other good ones?

Hi,

I don't know much, but found an old remedy for spider mites on indoor grow from VERY OLD edition of "The Australian Marijuana Growers Guide".. you have to dissolve some sunlight soap with warm water and then spray the plants liberally.. you then have to give a thorough rinse with fresh water.. Your plants may go into shock but will return to normal growth rate in about 2-3 days. This is for indoor grow..

Mentions that A pyrethrum spray will work on anything except white ants for outdoor pests..

As i said tho' i know :crap: but just checked the book and this was advise given.. so hope it helps in some way even if it gets shot down, at least they will explain why it's no good..

Probably old growers from this site who wrote the book tho' lol

Yer I had em once a while back, bastards of things they are.

Thing is they adapt to different treatments so in no time you can have your garden over run with a sort of super-resilient spider mite that couldn't care less what you sprayed it with

So you need something good and strong to get rid of em first go.

Grab some Dead-Red from your hydro shop, drench your plants with lights off make sure you get under the leaves too the bastards like it under there >:( From memory you have to wait 6 odd hrs before lights on again, ya don't wanna burn anything.

Do this for two days, once a day and you should be able to kiss em goodbye

I think you can use it up to a couple weeks before harvest too, although I'm not sure I'd use it on budding plants :nea:

Hope ya get em sorted.
