New Grower Questions

Hey guys! First time grow and I have a few questions. I wouldn't mind being answered. First, what sort of nutes should I be feeding my babies? Hers a pic

I think one of my plants is in the early veg stage and the other 3 are still transisitioning from the seedling stage. Today I went out and bought a few different ferts:

 

Powerfeed Concentrate Fish Fertilizer: Nitrogen 12% Phosphorus 1.4% Potassium 7% Potassium humate 3.08%

Miricale Gro Maxfeed All Purpose: Nitrogen 15% Phosphorus 13.1% Potassium 12.4%

Seasol Seaweed Concentrate: Doesnt really tell you but says it contains virtually no nitrogen or phosphorus so im guessing its most likely just potassium.

Epsom Salts: Magnesium sulphate blah blah blah

I have also got a decent amount of pig shit at my disposal.

 

Also could anyone reccomend a good soil mix? Im gunna think about transplanting them in the next few weeks into maybe some buckets and wanna see what you guys have used with decent results.

I'm using Seasol Seaweed Concentrate. It's great for establishing new stronger roots and also help on reducing overall stresses of the plant. As for the soil, go for Debco Organic Mix, don't worry about PH of it, because it's well optimized for the plant.

hi pattymac, ull be rite with that just dont mix them to strong untill they start hooken in and u must put dolimite lime in ur soil mix , and i use azomite ( trace elements ) keep it simple just by a good poty mix , an wen there budding give em sum rock phosphate, i make a tea out of cow shit , duno much about pig shit but probly the same good luk

Hey Patty, I would ditch the miracle grow cause it is shit. Use the powerfeed at half strength in combination with the seaweed extract, and if they look underfed just increase the powerfeed. The seaweed concentrate has virtually no nutrient, mostly just trace elements and stuff which your plant will love.

Hey Patty.

I was going to say what you guys said but I wont bother now cause you guys have already said it so I'll say something else instead... I've used MG & it worked ok. I've used Nitrosol & it too worked ok. Seasol works great in smal doses & powerfeed worked the same. Just use what you've got in small doses. They'll let you know if they're happy or not.

Yeah Ive heard alot of people dont go much on the MG due to leaving to much salt in the soil or something. So how often do i feed them cos I heard every other watering should do the trick? Also the leaves on my biggest plant are real pale looking, cripsy and at the edges are starting to brown. What's the diagnosis?

If it was me i wouldent be feeding them anything at this point.

 

From what u have just said it sounds like u have nute burn, stop feeding it nutes if u are and just water em every say 3 days, once they get bigger and u can to start back with the nutes imo only once every 2 weeks as in soil nutes can build up quick and cause u a lot of probs...

ha paddy, give them a good flush out wit fresh water an dont use ur nutes all at the same time , 1 at a time and use a diferent 1 each time or wat ever half strenth (just mix half wat it says )

Cheers for the advice guys. I think the soil ive got at the moment is absolute shithouse. Im thinking i might buy some new soil this week and transplant them into there final pots too.
