When to harvest?

Hi guys,

 

Here it is my first harvest is coming - but I need your help!!

We are growing in an enclosed bathtub with a 400w, hand watering with perlite. Its been now about 55 days in 12/12 (only bagseed but looks great!!!) but I don't want the plant to grow much more.

Can I cut the light cycle even more to force the buds to mature faster???

Also how do I dry it?? I know to hang it but for how long??

Any advice would be most appreciated - Cheers Oz stoners you have all helped me alot through my first grow.

a very basic guide:

 

harvest when the hairs are 70% brown. Don't forget to flush for 2 weeks prior to harvest.

 

Hang in a dark, well ventilated area until the stems snap when you try to bend them. Then they are dry enough to smoke, or cure, whichever suits you. Curing improves quality.

 

As urban said do a search and you will find threads with lots of detailed info.

Sortening the light bit by bit will help but get a magnifying glass and look at the trichomes - the little resin stalks that look like tinky mushrooms.

Clear = not ready, milky = peak ready, up high, amber = just past peak, heavy body stone. Just a ruff guide.

You can increase the dark period over a time and they will mature quicker, the down side is the yield will be less. Increase the dark cycle over a few weeks or as long as you can anyway really, so i read anyway? I haven't done it myself but it makes sense
