Vege Room

Hey guys I have just setup a new grow cab & have some THC Bomb and Durban Poison crankin under 600w HPS in coco/perlite. Now I started these from seed and they are about 4 weeks old and vegeing their heads off so the time is fast approaching to clone them first for sex then propagation. Now I come to my dilema: I realise that I am going to need a vege/clone room as my seedling box just aint big enough (it only a white styrofoam fish box with a sylvania growlux fluro)now my main concerns are with the type of lighting to use as i dont want to use another HID due to the heat/cost of running (the love-&-kisses is shitty bout the cost of the big one as is ) Now I know that 3x glux fluros will do the job and they dont suck too much juice and I was thinkin about getting some blue spectrum LED panels for the walls. Has anyone used these LEDs for a vege room? How are they on the power? And is 3 fluros & 2 LED panels overkill? Any feedback/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

hey joker, just go a 130W CFL or two, cost about $75 a globe, i got one running in veg cupboard and it's great, used to veg with the 400w MH , this saves me money, growth is pretty good and run nice and cool. LED panels.........Hmmmmmm...............I don't think much of them at all. I recon with those cheap Ebay panels I could grow a plant just using the light off a toaster element and get better results. . Good Luck mate. Gh72

Hey cheers 'Hopper have decided to take your advice grow with what ya know .

However I have decided to build a small one plant room using exclusivly LED panels and grow some clones like for like under CFL's to see how they compare but due to the immenent arrival of the jolly fat gut in red suit this prob wont get up and going till next year but i will do a comparative grow journal when it is.
