if you can only count about 20 flies...then probably little or no difference will be made....just make sure for your next babies that you spray the room and the rest of your house for em....

Theres also a product called scaridfly drench used for the treatment of fungus gnats

2mls of scaridfly drench to 10 ltrs of water, run treatment for 24 hours in highly oxygenated water, dump water, re-dose if pest is still present.

Treat a few plants first to test for phytoxicity

Have used the product without any problems.

This is a pic I found after a quick search for fungus gnat. This is another name of the humble, (but dangerous to crops...) scarid fly. The fly itself isn't the problem, it's the maggots left in the soil/media which are the problem, as FoL said, they feed on the roots...

If the bugs look like this, then it could be. But if they're a little smaller, and different appearance, they could just be some midges or other flies hanging around in the tropics... Do you have some kind of fly screen on your fans? I'd advise you to do so quicksmart if not, in summer the bugs come and never stop breeding...

Oh, and get some of those dichlorovos hangers, I haven't had a single problem insect wise with this grow since getting them, mind you, it is winter at the mo, but still...

I have had the same little black flys which are living in the Organic soil as well as the Perlite(which have a few clones in them). They have not done any noticable damage as yet. I have used fly paper around the pots and every day give the pots a bit of a shake to get the little critters out so they can get stuck. Could they be Thrips?
