Female Seeds?

My Cheese and Mazar Seeds have arrived a few days ago from PS

 

 

I'm keen to see how these Female seeds perform but still a while to go before getting a grow on the go

Yea i been thinking about the direction the seedbreeders are taking the genepool of our beloved Mary Jane

four or five years ago female Cannabis seeds were uncommon, almost a novelty

but now the pracitce is commonplace with ever increasing numbers of seed breeders producing female seed lines of their popular strains

 

initially it looks great for the cultivator who can keep his numbers of plants down to a minimum and still be confident of any given number of seedlings actually becoming female

but is this a good direction for the Cannabis gene pool to take?

 

basicly the seed-breeders combined, hold the developed genetics of the last 40 odd years breeding that came from the pursuit of highly- potent psychoactive strains of Cannabis

looking at it from their perspective, to be able sell nothing but female seeds would further monopolize the seed market greatly in their favour and simplify thier operation

no longer would the grower have the option to buy a stable Inbred Line and make seeds from them, nor would the grower mess around with crossing different strains and fluke the holy grail plant

 

ive never grown female seeds so i dunno much about them, but i hope they dont ever become the only way to buy seeds and take away our option to be able to buy standard male/female seeds
