What liter sized pot to use for grow?

would a 290MM SQUARE FLOWER BUCKET POT - 18 LITRES be sutible?

 

Does it matter what size the pot it very much, how many liter should it hold or be a good choice?

The choice is yours. The bigger the pot the bigger the root system etc. etc.

Hey AS, 18L pot is spot on for about a 4-5ft plant, I use two 18L for my big girls in the tent. As Rev says, the bigger the better. My pots are CHOCKED with roots, thank god there is only 4-5 more weeks to go. . Gh72

i use the 24l square pots but am going to step upto around 70l storage tub my 24l pots get rootbound after 3-4weeks veg 600mm tall

if its just 1 plant and say under a 400w at least a 30 ltr pot imo

i like to transplant and work my way up

starting with a small 2ltr pot

then to 12-15 ltr pot

then into flower with at least a 20 ltr pot

but i grow with 4-5 plants under the footprint of a 600w

i HAVE A DUDE THAT WORKS A Nursury and I am really transplanting alot.starting with grow cups and going up with all size pots.My big ones are what they put trees in.

But changing sizes a small amount at the time keeps the tap root from running down to the bottom and trying to fill out a big pot takes longers than have it fill out pots slightly larger each time.Its the same thing they do at the nursury.It works good if you can get the containers.

It also depends on what type of media you are growing in. I grew an almost 8 foot plant in 18 liter pots with coco. I only use 10 liter hempy pots for my 5-6 foot plants. In soil you will have to use bigger pots! The roots are amazing in coco and very full.
