early sexing?

I have read on the internet that i can presex plants, by tying a black plastic bag over a branch waiting a couple of weeks of 12hrs on 12hrs off of sunlight...then wallah. Also how big should your plants be b4 you start to sex them. i had the idea of just getting a big pot and placing it over the whole plant as to make sure the plant was only getting 12/12 light cycle, would this work...also how long will it take to show sex (2 weeks?)

i believe the general idea is to blacken off a branch

so once u got laterals with growth

most strains i find show sex generally about week 6

unless its a heavy sativa then who knows with them

but yer most hybrids i find show early enough generally around same time they start alternating nodes

Possibly the smartest theory is to let the plants mature enuff to wanna show as opposed to early

forced maturation...

 

Let em grow into it...

 

Indoors, youd be veging for 4wks minimum anyways,some adolescence is needed for maturity,

cant put a 40yr old laborers body mass and hardness onto a 12 yr old...after 4wks, the maturity and

physical developement (say the young laborer in his mid 20s, bulking and work hardening)would

occur in the 1st 2wks of reduced light period, letting the plant show its colors, so to speak...

 

No matter ya bells and whistles, things still take time...

 

Of course, under lights, you`re thinkin of training, nutes, etc...but you`re on the way to

bud, on a plant that can hold it`s own...

 

Now outdoors is a little different but easier... trust me. chuck `em in the ground and once they got

good growth, lotsa side shoots, you`re set...grab a fair few side shoots, least 3 leaf sets each if ya can,

tippin at the same time see...smart work... now get them cuttings in a sterile glass of clean cold water,

chuck em in a dark cupboard ( I use the laundry, you CAN use the bathroom, kitchen, whatever,

I just use the laundry...) 2-3wks, you`ll know what ya got, plus the benefit of cuttings from the girls

to replace any males you gotta rip...

Bein outdoor, you got a good Sep- Jan window to do it, depending how far south you are I spose,

nothing hits my beds `til early Oct, can sex `em before Christmas...

 

Trust me, it`s quicker to do than talk about...

yes it will work as long as you make sure absolutely no light leaks

also how long will it take to show sex (2 weeks?)

yes

12hr of 100% darkness for 2wk will dowit everytime

most people use thick curtains

you can even buy them straight off the shelf

often used in hot house flower cultivation

best to start black outz in late afternoon

never let direct sun light touch a covered plant

and then uncover just after sun rise

trimming the day light hrs off each end of the day rules for most people

be aware

temp and air quality can be a major concern in hot humid conditions

in hot houses this is easily overcome with fans, AC, dehumidifierz etc
