Quad fan Installation

Recommended Posts

I started off with just one 125mm computer fan for the exhaust.

Running a 250 Watt 6500K Fluro

It wasn't long b4 I needed another fan of the same sort.

Now my Girls n Boys are starting to stink things up.

So then I bought an Axial 125mm fan and Charcoal Filter.

I left the computer fan in place and tapped up the duct. So I have the

Computer fan on top of the fridge assisting the Axial fan in pushing the air through the filter.

So I now have a 250 Watt HPS and another 100 watts of Fluro's in my fridge.

Yep you guessed it I needed more Airflow.

So Now I have 2 computer fans pushing in 2 separate 125 mm ducts and two 125mm Axial fans

inline with two Charcoal Filters....oh and I also have a recirc fan in the fridge to..!!

One Axial runs full time. The other Axial and both Computer Fans come on with the lights.

There is a lesson to be learn't here. Don't underestimate the amount of airflow you will need.

I might even be able to run a single 400watt HPS in there now. :bongon:

I'm still getting my cupboard ready. I've drilled a plethora of small 5 cent piece size holes all around the base of the cupboard for passive intake. I have one 120mm fan at the top of the cabinet for exhaust. I'll be ready to make that 3 x 120mm fans if I need it. Just means getting a 3 way PVC adapter to connect the ducting up to a single line which will run to an outside vent (and 2 more fans...)

If I had of known how much "hidden costs" was involved in getting a nice setup going I'd have thought twice about it. Oh well, hopefully it will be worth it...

I hear ya on the cost things... :bongon:

I have spent $600 on ventilation alone.

The biggest thing about being busted for me would be the Coppers talking all my Hydro gear & Nutes.

I've spent a crap load of time putting it all together.

Wonder if they would take the fridge as evidence...:o...

Still I don't believe on cutting costs on ya hobby.

This is more hobby than pot related for me.

After this grow I have running I am going to run some Chilli plants

as an experiment during summer. Trying to see if I can get way with no

water chiller for the nute's. Should be ok with Coco and run to waste system.

I won't really need to do a grow over summer.
