LED EVADER 300w BLOOM

Recommended Posts

Okay Im thinking of buying one of these LED 300w grow lights which are supposed to be equivelant to a 900w HPS.. Has anyone on here had any experience with them before? I cant find too much aussie info on the net and since these are 600 bux I thought I would do a bit of research first... For anyone that wants to check these out the website is http://www.ecoledlights-au.com

First has anyone on here grown with LEDs or seen a grow with LEDs? Has anyone heard of these brand of LEDs?

The advantages seem to good not to try.. Using 80% less power, inbuilt fans on the light and alot less heat, no ballast needed, no reflector needed and the light is smaller. Also they apparently delever the 'perfect' light to the plant for it being 80% red and 20% blue.

So what do you guys think? Worth a try? or a complete load of shit?

I checked out the site and could not find the 300w lights on there list of products. can you give me details?

I have been looking into the LED thing and have been told of there wonders by some people who swear by them. It's great to find an oz supplier but they only had lights up to 150 or 210 watts so would love to find the 300w light you are mentioning.

I think the 300w might be the 210w your mentioning.. I know there are only 3 sizes, the small one, UFO one and the big rectangle which I think is the 300? apparently equivelant to 900w HPS but ive seen this light in action at the shop and doesnt seem to cut the chop... I dunno.. Might be worth a try.. Think ill just stick with HPS and fluro for now atleast..

Burnz, Hey man =),

All these units come out of china, they are just marketed here now. I have been to the site of the manufacturer after finding their details online. Mass produced crap made to look like they might of done their homework.

There's a lot of Talk, talk, talk about LED's but until someone shows me a Fat assed compact Cola grown only under LED I will still say HID pisses on them.

1Watt LEDS are piss poor, now if they were talking 3-5 watt LEDS with a known brand name producer(Xenon or the like), i would do the maths on it's output.

I have a cert in Electronics and I have researched LED's and wasted countless hours, days, weeks even only to come to one conclusion, for all the promises-they don't deliver compared to MH/HPS.

This technology will be superseded soon by Plasma lamps, as soon as they can get the spectrums sorted and the price down. This is Plasma, which is how the sun works, so pretty much it's sunlight in a tiny lil Globe with amazing brightness, efficient but Pisses on LED's spectrum wise.

I'll stick with HID, watt for watt and for initial outlay(maybe not electrical costs) they are still the leader in lighting. Goodluck in your quest, if you want to go LED still. Gh72

Have purchased two 120 W (120 X 1 w) LED lights which incorperate red blue and orange leds

will run a grow with two of these simupltaniously allong side my firs ever grow using all the same kit except for the lights (I am blessed with space in abundance to play in)

Will then post pics and results for all to see.

Keeping in mind it will be my first grow so we will see how I go, just figured it was worth the effort to look into this as it is a possable alternative to the hps I will be using in summer on the QLD nth coast so heat is a biggie.

(cant hurt to get some more smoke allong the way either,, hehe .....)

Well I have seen pretty good smoke grown under these lights, and know the distributor and I cant believe they are as bad as everyone thinks... From what I have seen everywhere they do the job, and a few people say theyre better than fluros. And apparently theyre taking over in UK and Europe.. I would love to try them out but dont really wanna fork out the dosh lol. Start a grow diary and let us know how you go Sassman.
