Seedlings are powering along nicely, they really grow well when they're not being over-watered. I chucked a few outside over the w/e, we'll see how they go.

Lookin good there man. I like the idea of your heshin pots but I feel you'll need to keep the watering right up to them in the warmer months. ie too much on the drainage side of things. All the best

Watering is going to be my main challenge for this grow, no doubt. I'm currently working on a watering set-up using poly-pipe and a pump, so hopefully that will ease the burden a little.

 

The hessian pots were piss easy to put together. I guess this will be a trial run to see whether I use them again at a later date.

The weather has been nice and mild this past week, cool nights but warm sunny days. The plants seem to be making the most of it. These plants are Early Durban x Malberry.

Looking good mate, few people been talking to including myself are giving outdoors a good wurl this season, but you got off the mark the first!

 

I like the hessian pot method, very cool. Can always line the pots with a water retentive material, but from the sounds of things your getting serious and bringing in the poly pipes. Fuck yeah mate, should be monsters starting this early. If you notice your getting some nibbles from anything on them seedlings.. keep them under the lights a little more, I can't see anything going wrong with this one.

Another week on and things are starting to settle in nicely. All my plants have been hardened off and are enjoying life in the great outdoors. I've got a dozen so far but they're yet to be sexed, so that number will roughly halve.

 

The seedling that went out a few weeks ago for 'shits n giggles' is doing fantastically. It's easily the largest of the lot, despite them all being the same age. It's been growing in one of the large hessian pots by itself. Just goes to show what plants can do when you give them a lot of root space.

 

I've chucked a couple of plants into prepared holes in the ground as well. We'll see how they go. Flicks:

Good luck this season mate...just a quickie...Have you used the hessian pots before..??

 

How would/do they handle the summer heat...i imagine they'd dry out very quickly...like the idea though..
