When to flower

Recommended Posts

I have an indoor grow with height space of 1400mm. Currently I have 6 plants all around 200mm. I know the idea behind waiting for the alternating nodes in regards to the plant becoming sexually mature.

However I don't really want them to grow beyond 900-1000mm during flower, due to my height restrictions. I grow under a 400w HPS bulb.

Here is a pic of my plants now at around 200mm they have 4/5 nodes. I was thinking wait till either 300mm or 450mm. What do you guys reckon?

It is my first time growing and have read a few conflicting posts on the growth of the plants once the light cycle is changed. I am hoping to get atleast 2 females out of these would be nice.

heya hobbyist welcome here :peace:

depends a bit on the genetics of the plant sativas big stretch when sent to flower, indicas maybe not so much

best bet is count on them doubling their size from the day you turn the lights to 12 / 12 hours

you still want a little space between the top heads and your light

just to get an idea put your hand palm facing down, directly under the globe , yea its hot!! well lower your hand until it feels just warm not hot , this height is where you want the growth to stop

cause any closer the top buds will burn and thats not good

BTW they look excellent

Cheers for the reply mate, I will take your advice in planning for a possible double in height as well as the required distance for my light. So far I have had it around 250-300mm from the top of the plants.

If I end up having success with this run, I will definately spend some money on some good seeds for the next run. This should make things easier as I don't even know what strain I am growing right now.

I want to have a crack at growing some white dwarfs.
