how quickly to change from 18hrs light to 12 hrs light - gradual or in

Hi guys,

 

My plant in my grow cabinet is ready to go to flowering - I have been running my light (400 watt son t agro) 24 hours as it was a cheaper way of maintaining a good temp in the cabinet (Im in Melbourne) and now I want to change to the 12 hour cycle.

 

My question is, should I do this gradually (ie 1 hr, then 2, 3.. etc to 12) or will the plant be ok if I switch straight to a 12 hour light cycle?

Hey Morphine good question. Almost all growers go straight to 12/12 from 18/6 and thatas how its done and it works.

 

But are there any diferences in growth habbits between reducing hours gradually and switching down abruptly?

 

Thats something Id really like too know.... Where are you know it all?

reducing will only prelong harvest

12 /12 all the way no confusion for the plants

Some growers turn lights off altogether for 48hours and then flip to 12/12, personally like Billo I flip straight to 12/12.

Remember you will have at least 2 weeks of stretch with your plants as well.

Straight to 12/12; have seen gradual reductions produce no discernible difference, only exacerbating frustration and potential for error.
