Cloning a outdoor AK99 4 weeks into flowering?

Recommended Posts

Hi Mick666, just clone as usual, keep their light on 24 hours and they will take a bit longer than normal as they need to revert to veg as well, start more than you need as you may have a few mortalities and/or uneven growth.

Thanks Tom

Went to buy some superthrive and Kmart decided not to sell it this week.... I swear last week they had 20 bottles of it when I was there.

O well lets hope they clone easy so I can finally get into some proper growing :>

Finally got me a 400w HPS :B):

Just a tip, don't remove any of the small flowers from the clones, this is where any new shoots will come out... Also, once the new shoots have progressed, say a couple of weeks, be sure to remove the old flowers from the base of the stem. As these die, you can end up with some mold probs.

Oh, and keep your clones sterile, particularly when cloning in flower. I mean, you should be anyway, but pay particularly good attention to it with these ones. May I ask what light you're cloning under?

Can someone give me a link to a really indepth cloning guide I have teh idea but im still not 100%

Cheers

cut the clones sharply trying not to damage the stem. Some make a second cut underwater and wriggle the bottom of the stem to ensure there is not water in there. You need about an inch of stem in the medium to root. you only need a few small leaves, lots of or large leaves make the plant lose moisture faster. Trim lower branches and if upper leaves are massive maybe chop them in half.

dip clone in rooting gel and place in medium, whether its rockwool, perlite, soil or whatever. Keep clones in a humid envorinmet, 50-80% maybe mist regularly. Some use a humidity dome, which can simply be a clear plastic container/bottle over your plants. Keep medium moist but not soaking. Clone under flouros or if HID keep at least a metre away. Should root within 2 weeks. Clones taken in flower will be harder to take.

I am tinkering with an aero cloner and rockwool, but really have had 100% success in pinching clones off with my fingernails, dip in rooting hormone and wack in soil. No humidity control, mist about twice a day.
