Approach to buying supplies

Recommended Posts

Is it friendly?

I've been posting on forums for years, but his is the first time I've been referred to as a lazy, dumb fucker that needs to grow a pair. Off my first post no less!

If it's so aggravating to you Flatcat, why reply at all? Do you let fly with the invective for all posts that annoy you, or am I a special case?

I get the shits at lazy fuckers not doing their research and asking others to do it for them.

You don't have to reply to the thread flatcat if it worries you so much :afro:

Some get sick of the 'use the search engine nazis" too.

Abusing other members isn't on either. This a community.

Peace MM

Well at my shop I talk quite freely about what I'm buying. It's all about common sense, which isn't to common.

And for the record I actually use 3 shops.

I would highly advise against this method within the State of Queensland. As you'd find Hydroponic shop owners/staff have a duty of care to inform the authorities of such conversations/activities. Fair enough most won't do jack shit about it. But unless you know the full background of the person you're talking to, you'd have to be fuckin' nuts. It only takes you walking into the wrong store 'n talk to the wrong person about your intentions. Anyway, as the old saying goes. Loose lips sinks ships.

With the beauty of the internet nowadays, we can source most of the info we require at sites like OSA here 'n if you want to learn more about a product. it's only a google search away. Educate yourself first of what you have in mind. Then 'n only then, go shopping for whatever you need. I personally do my best to source most products I can at other shops 'n only go to Hydro stores for what I can't source elsewhere. With a bit of knowlegde 'n ingenuity, you'd be surprised how little you actually need to rely on Hydro stores. I would be lucky to have to visit them once a year nowadays.

Can't argue with that. Although had I not got to know my local store owner, I wouldn't have been able to source new cuttings.

And I always knew that there was a reason I don't live in QLD.

That's amazing. You banana-benders have got it tough up there! I hope things are less draconian here in Victoria (but I'll assume it isn't).

I realise nearly everything is available on the internet, but I'm a little paranoid there as credit cards have your real name and you have to give them your postal address. I was hoping to mostly pay in cash at stores and leave as little a trail behind as possible.

It's not as bad as it seems. Just as long as you know what you're dealing with.

Yeah, i'm not suggesting you buy your supplies off the net. Just do your research on it (internet), know what the gear you want to buy 'n go in store and pay cash. A paper trail is the last thing any canna growers wants/needs.
