Approach to buying supplies

Recommended Posts

Hi Canna Nationals

I'm a new member and this is post #1. I've been lurking in this excellent forum for the past couple of weeks, absorbing knowledge to help with my first grow. After a fair bit of research here and on other boards, I'm taking a micro, indoor, stealth, cfl, soilless-mix with nutes approach. I hope to journal my progress on this site.

Now I'm about to start purchasing, I have a question: when you're in a garden or hydroponics supplies store, how honest with the staff are you? Do you flat-put pretend to be growing tomatoes, or is it a <wink> tomatoes affair? I may need to get some advice from the suppliers, but I don't want to be thrown out of the store.

I live and will be buying within Melbourne. How cool are the shop keepers here in people's experience?

Cheers, PHC

Buying a DVD player would be no problem at all :afro: It's just that I live in an upstairs apartment with no balcony and don't grow anything except facial hair.

If I walk into a garden store and start asking what pots, mediums, nutes etc. they stock & recommend, they may well ask 'what do you want to grow'?

What would you say to them?

Flatcat. You may be a free-talkin', dope-growin' veteran with a massive set of cahonees, but I'm just starting out.

I don't know what I'm doing so I'm researching as many parts of this illegal enterprise as I can. As far as I can tell, this is the first time this "dumb" question has been asked on this forum.

For some reason I thought this was a friendly community.
