from flower, back to veg

Recommended Posts

hey peeps,

i decided a couple of months ago to give a couple of plants a crack outside in winter ( i know probably not the best idea, but hey anything is better than nothing), the plants have now gone into flower as daylight hours are less than 12 hours a day, my question is, as daylight hours start to increase, and once the daylight hours are exceeding say 14 hours a day will my plant revert back into vegatative stage, or will it keep flowering.

Depends Gothash, sativa or indica and your latitude.

I know that around 35'S lat an indica dom, like Sensi's skunk#1, will begin to show visible signs of reverting to vegetative growth at the beginning of November... to prevent revegging I have to increase the night time period from half October. So south of that it will happen a bit earlier and north of 35'S, it will happen a bit later.

And obviously, the time frame will be shorter for sativa doms.

edit, just checked the times... total day of a little under 15 hrs... that's not a sun up/down figure though. It includes the civil twilight period for the latitude. You can generate a table of sun rise/set, with or without civil twilight, for your exact latitude at Sun or Moon Rise/Set Table for One Year: Locations Worldwide

i have no idea what they are lou lou, just bag seed, plants seem to be very random, some small, and others grow at a huge rate of knots compared to the others, my latitude is around 25'S. i guess ill just play it by ear, doesnt really matter, ill be starting my real grow at the end of august/start of sept. bring that shit on..

It can and does happen! but more than likely if you only have a couple of weeks to go till full bloom, she will Ferfill her destiny! (and finish flowering)!

The other Way to combat this, (say if you have 4 weeks to go) but it can be very time consuming, is to only allow the plants to have a maximum of 12 hours of light per day, by covering the plants in black plastic or drums or anything else which will not allow light to enter,(these also have to be removed, just after dark, like i said very time consuming, but it does work!) therefore keeping the plants on a strict flowering schedule of 12/12!

Hope this helps!

25S lat... no worries, you have months and months before they look like reverting lol

As Mongy mentioned, protecting from cold and rain are the priorities. I grow my ganja in a hothouse to protect them from rain, excessive wind and prying eyes. The structure is not heated over winter and the cold can be a problem (winter nights hover between -2C and +3C), but maintaining a circulation fan overnight, prevents the cold air from settling and reduces cold stress and leave damage (I learned that trick working on a kiwi fruit farm).

my winter OD plants are looking ok but i suspect they wont go full term flowering, proved a good test of new beans.

mostly its the cold preventing a decent grow in WA, my clones and seed planted straight into the outdoor coco pots didnt do well except for the few seedlings allowed to veg for more than a week under 24/0 flouro lighting.

F2 w. rhino seedlings that got some veg period lighting are starting to stink up but will they finish flowering? hundred $ question.. im guessing nearly but not quite.

Bigbud clone saying NO to flower she is a bit confused without a strong and steady veg.

My herbs are doing well this time of the year, a once off liquid feed and suddenly this pot went spastic with foliage. Way too much for us to use.
